UNIX Attributes Tab

Use this tab to specify UNIX-specific information.

The fields in this tab are listed below:

UID

Specifies the User Identifier options. You can choose from the following:

Next Free

Select this radio button if you want CA Access Control to assign the next available UID (User Identifier) to the account.

Set UID

Select this radio button if you want to enter a specific UID (User Identifier) to the account.

Master Domain

Select this radio button if you want to enter a specific UID (User Identifier) for a master directory name. If you select this radio button, you must enter:

  • The domain name for the UID master directory.
  • The name of the UID master directory
Set UID

Specifies the UID (User Identifier) to assign to the account.

Master Endpoint

Specifies the domain name and name of the UID master endpoint. Click the Browse button to search for the master endpoint.

Login Shell

Specifies the login shell to use for this user when the user starts up. You can choose from the following.

Home Directory

Specifies the home directory used by UNIX when the user logs on.

For an account template, you can manually enter the home directory. If you leave the home directory blank, CA Access Control assigns a system's default home directory to the account when the account is created on the system.

Primary Group

Specifies the UNIX primary group for the account. If you are creating an account interactively, click the Browse Button to browse for the primary group.

For an account template, you can manually enter the primary group. If you leave the primary group field blank, CA Access Control assigns a system's default primary group to the account when the account is created on the system.

GECOS

Specifies real-world data for the account, including, for example, the user's full name, office number, and extension. This data is specified in its subfields. There is no standard between UNIX hosts, though most may share the same basic subfields.
